Ants Are No Picnic!

When ants invade, it’s time to take back your territory. There are many kinds of ants, such as pavement ants, flying ants (swarmers), carpenter ants, and odorous house ants. Pavement ants are common invaders and are approximately 1/16- to 1/8-inch long, with lighter colored legs and dark bodies covered in stiff hairs and lighter colored legs.

In their natural habitat, they nest under flat surfaces such as concrete slabs. When they move into your home, however, they’ll nest within walls, insulation, floors, and anywhere close to heat sources during the winter. They’ll feed on insects, seeds and sweets, but prefer meats and greases; and they’ll trail for food as far as 30 feet from their nests. Although not particularly aggressive, worker ants can bite and sting.

Let us give them their marching orders.
